The Frugal Local coupon book is designed to encourage Coronado residents to shop local, support neighborhood businesses, and stay connected to the community they call home. At the same time, it also provides meaningful visibility for select off-island businesses that serve Coronado customers who regularly travel for dining, services, and specialty offerings. Our goal is to create a trusted platform that strengthens local loyalty while connecting readers with businesses that add value to their lives by staying connected to trusted businesses beyond the island.

We are excited to share that the inaugural edition of The Frugal Local will launch in June, just in time for summer. More than simply an advertising publication, The Frugal Local is built on connection. It is designed to bring residents closer to their community while giving local businesses meaningful visibility with the people they serve most. The publication also creates meaningful visibility for off-island businesses that want to reach Coronado’s engaged, high-value customers when they are deciding where to shop, dine, and spend.
When a business is featured in this publication, it is not merely placing an ad, it is becoming part of a growing community platform that helps strengthen local relationships, encourage residents to shop locally, and connect readers with trusted businesses both within Coronado and beyond the bridge, all while supporting a thriving local economy.
At BLU Lapis Media, we believe every community has stories worth telling and businesses worth supporting. That belief inspired us to create The Frugal Local, a new community-based publication designed to help neighbors discover and support local businesses while also celebrating the people, places, and history that make their community unique.
Coronado residents regularly travel off-island for services, dining, and specialty offerings. Our goal is to position businesses like yours directly in front of these higher-spending customers at the moment they are deciding where to go and where to spend their money.
Your business would be placed directly in front of engaged local readers who are actively looking to shop local, support neighborhood businesses, and take advantage of valuable offers close to home.
Our inaugural issue will be a 5.5” x 8.5” publication of approximately 40 pages, with an initial distribution of 5,600 homes, expanding to approximately 8,000 homes over the following months as demand continues to grow.
